Son Heung Min On His Miss Against Man City: Tottenham Hotspur captain Son Heung Min has finally broken his silence following his crucial and disappointing miss against Manchester City in the Premier League after Arsenal fans accused him of costing them the title.
Spurs took on City in their most recent PL match at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Winning this match was necessary for Pep Guardiola’s side if they were to win the league.
While the home side looked good in the first half, it was the Sky Blues who struck first when Erling Haaland scored in the 51st minute. From that point on, this game became a snowball fight, with each team taking shots at each other.
With the game hanging in the balance, Son received the ball and found himself one-on-one with City’s secondary keeper, Stefan Ortega. But the South Korean icon couldn’t lift the ball over the goalie, who made the save with his outstretched leg.

Haaland went on to score a penalty in the first minute of stoppage time to win the game for his team.
Several Arsenal fans, who are the arch-rivals of Tottenham, are now blaming Son for costing them the title by missing that goal. Before that game, the Gunners were at the top of the league with 86 points in 37 games. Meanwhile, Manchester City was in second with 85 points but had played one fewer game.
If City drew their game with the Spurs, they would remain in second due to an inferior goal difference with only one match to go. But now, the defending champions are ahead in the title race right at the end.
Son Heung Min On His Miss Against Man City
Potentially costing his rivals with a miss against City, Heung-Min finally opened up about his miss in that game. He told the British outlet, Evening Standard:
“I’m also human. The keeper made a really good decision and made himself really big. But I take the responsibility to not score that big chance for the team because the team was working really hard and trying to get a good result.”
While Manchester City and Arsenal battle it out for the title on top of the table when they play their final matches on May 19, Tottenham is hanging dearly to fifth in the league table, with Chelsea right on their heels heading into Matchday 38.
