WWE SmackDown was taped at the O2 Arena in London, England. It served as the final show before Night of Champions.
During the show, Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes addressed GUNTHER and Sami Zayn before defending his title against both men at Night of Champions.
The show also featured Paige taking on Jacy Jayne. Rey Fenix defended the AAA Cruiserweight Championship against Nathan Frazer. Several other matches and segments also took place.

Trick Williams Reveals Marriage to Lash Legend
Trick Williams came to the ring with Little Yachty and revealed that he got married to Lash Legend in Jamaica last week. He called it the best day of his life and said he plans to stay United States Champion by beating Ricky Saints before heading into SummerSlam. Saints interrupted and congratulated Williams before mocking his marriage and claiming he would soon become the new champion.
The two exchanged insults, with Williams warning that he would knock Saints’ teeth out. After Little Yachty joined the verbal exchange, Saints punched the rapper. As Williams checked on him, Saints returned and hit the champion with a microphone before escaping. The heated confrontation ended with both men staring each other down.
Alexa Bliss & Tiffany Stratton vs the Baddies (B-FAB & “Michin” Mia Yim)
Alexa Bliss and Tiffany Stratton started strong against B-FAB and Michin, with Stratton and Bliss controlling the early action. After the break, Bliss finally tagged Stratton back in, and the WWE Women’s Champion cleared the ring with a series of fast attacks. She looked ready to finish the match after a Finlay Roll set up her moonsault.
However, Jade Cargill appeared at ringside and tripped Stratton before she could jump. The distraction allowed B-FAB to take advantage and hit a hangman’s neckbreaker into an X-Factor for the pin. After the match, Chelsea Green ran to the ring with a kendo stick and chased off the Baddies, leaving Bliss and Stratton surprised.
Nathan Frazer vs Rey Fenix (c) (AAA Cruiserweight Championship)
Rey Fenix successfully retained the AAA Cruiserweight Championship after an exciting match against Nathan Frazer. Frazer came close to winning with a springboard Russian legsweep into a Final Cut, but Fenix kicked out. Back in the ring, Fenix landed a frog splash, but Frazer still refused to stay down. As Frazer climbed to the top rope for another attack, Fenix stopped him and finished the match with the Mexican Muscle Buster to retain the championship.
LA Knight Rejects Solo Sikoa’s Alliance
LA Knight called out Solo Sikoa after defeating Jimmy Uso on Raw, saying Solo’s interference helped decide the match. Solo surprised Knight by saying he was not there to fight. He claimed his family had abandoned him and admitted he now hated Roman Reigns, Jacob Fatu, the Usos, and the entire Bloodline.
Solo suggested they work together since they shared the same enemy. Knight agreed that he hated the Bloodline but refused the offer, saying he would continue fighting on his own. Later backstage, Sami Zayn defended his actions as special referee, insisting GUNTHER pushed him too far. Zayn believed his recent struggles had led him to another chance and declared he would become WWE Champion.
Jacy Jayne vs Paige
Paige defeated Jacy Jayne after a hard-fought match despite constant distractions from Fatal Influence. Jacy took control early with help from Lainey Reid, but Paige fought back with a headbutt, corner offense, and an STF submission. Outside the ring, Paige took out Fallon Henley and Jazmyn Nyx before Jacy caught her with a penalty kick.
Late in the match, Paige hit the Paige Turner, but Jacy kicked out. Jayne later tried to steal the win by using the ropes for leverage on a backslide. Brie Bella stopped the cheating by knocking Jacy’s feet off the ropes. As Lainey attacked Brie, Paige rolled Jacy up with a schoolboy to secure the victory.
Cody Rhodes, Sami Zayn, Gunther, Jey Uso and Oba Femi Spark Wild Night of Champions Brawl
The final segment of SmackDown built excitement for Night of Champions. Cody Rhodes came to the ring, but Sami Zayn interrupted and admitted he regretted his actions from the previous week. Cody rejected the apology and accused Zayn of making excuses, leading to a heated argument. Gunther then joined them and promised to take the WWE Championship from Rhodes.
King of the Ring finalist Jey Uso interrupted and warned all three men before attacking Gunther, starting a wild brawl. Oba Femi then walked to the ring and stared down Rhodes. The chaos ended with Jey superkicking Cody, Gunther dropping Jey with a clothesline, Zayn getting hit with Cross Rhodes, and Rhodes facing off with Oba as the show ended.
