GUNTHER then interrupted and mocked her. He also questioned Aldis about adding him to Kevin Owens’ match at SummerSlam. Chelsea mocked GUNTHER’s loss. Matt Cardona then came to Chelsea’s defense. Carmelo Hayes attacked Baron Corbin before the bell. Hayes used quick strikes and a springboard corkscrew uppercut for a nearfall. Corbin caught Hayes during a high-flying attack and sent him outside. He later threw Hayes over the timekeeper’s barricade and tried to win by countout. After the break, Hayes mounted a comeback with several kicks and a springboard back elbow. He hit two Codebreakers and a frog splash, but Corbin kicked out. Corbin then stopped another attack and hit a short-arm End of Days. Baron Corbin retained the WWE United States Championship. Afterward, Trick Williams and Lil Yachty attacked Corbin.
Kevin Owens and CM Punk Heat Up WWE Championship Rivalry
Kevin Owens came to the ring to address his WWE Championship match. CM Punk interrupted him and challenged Owens to speak face-to-face. Owens explained their issues began 20 years ago. He said Punk embarrassed him in an independent wrestling locker room. Owens also criticized Punk’s past actions and called him fake. Punk praised Owens’ career but called him a wasted talent. Owens said he spent his career trying not to become like Punk. Both men then discussed their past losses and personal issues. Owens said he would beat Punk for the WWE Championship next week in Toronto. Punk promised to choke Owens out.

Jacy Jayne attacked Tiffany Stratton early and scored a nearfall. Lainey Reid then distracted Stratton, allowing Jacy to hit a lungblower. After the break, Tiffany fought back with several strong attacks. She hit a lariat, an Alabama Slam, and a handspring stunner. Stratton then landed a double jump moonsault, but Jacy kicked out. Fallon Henley later tried to help Jacy, but Chelsea Green stopped her. Tiffany then hit a plancha on everyone outside the ring. Back inside, Jacy caught Tiffany with a rolling elbow. Jacy Jayne won by pinfall and became the new WWE Women’s United States Champion.
Randy Orton Attacks Cody Rhodes Before Main Event
Cody Rhodes was set to face Sami Zayn in the main event. However, Randy Orton attacked Rhodes before the match began. Orton hit the hanging DDT and smashed Cody into the apron and steel steps. Rhodes fought back, and the brawl moved into the crowd. Orton later placed Cody in a dangerous position against the announce desk and steel steps. He tried to attack him with a chair. Cody stopped him with a low blow and struck Orton with the chair. Road agents and referees then separated them. Cody tried to attack Orton again, but the show ended before the fight continued.
