Shreyas Iyer Gets Heartfelt Message From Sister: Shreyas Iyer has been in the headlines lately but not for good reason. In what is a tumultuous point in his cricket career, he has done a fine job in the final of the 2023/24 Ranji Trophy season. His sister Shresta has now shared a heartwarming post.
Mumbai is currently taking on Vidharba in the final of the Ranji Trophy. Iyer, who was part of the India squad at the beginning of the recent Test series against England, was removed from the national team and is currently starring for Mumbai in Ranji.
While he failed to score big in the first innings of the final, Shreyas showed off his class in Mumbai’s second innings during the final, just missing out on a 100 as he scored a brilliant 95.

This was the second-highest score in this innings, as U-19 star Musheer Khan scored an impressive 136. These two, along with captain Ajinkya Rahane pushed Mumbai to a massive total of 418, giving Vidharba a massive 538-run target in the fourth innings.
Shreyas Iyer Gets Heartfelt Message From Sister
Shreyas’ sister Shreyanka has now taken to social media to react to her brother’s solid effort. She shared a picture on her Instagram story, showing Shreyas’ crucial knocks in the Ranji Trophy final. The first was his innings of 117-off-142 balls in the 2015/16 final against Saurashtra. The second was the 95 from the ongoing final.
The 29-year-old was recently dropped from the Indian Test side against England following a few bad performances. After that, he was excluded from BCCI’s central contracts despite being a semi-regular part of the team.
Rumors emerged that he, along with wicketkeeper Isan Kishan, is not too keen on playing Test and domestic cricket and might focus more on leagues like IPL. Shreyas Iyer has, to some extent, put a damper on these rumors and reports and will be looking to star for India in the 2024 T20 World Cup following a solid performance in the upcoming IPL, where he will captain the Kolkata Knight Riders.
