Saturday Night’s Main Event XLV took place at Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York. The event was promoted as Saturday Night’s Main Event: NYC and was streamed on Peacock in the United States and YouTube in most international markets.
It marked the first Saturday Night’s Main Event at Madison Square Garden since 2007 and was held as part of Fanatics Fest. The show featured an appearance by World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns, while 2026 NBA champion Jalen Brunson of the New York Knicks also appeared during the event.

Brie Bella & Paige (c) vs Fatal Influence (Fallon Henley & Lainey Reid) (WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship)
Fatal Influence defeated Brie Bella and Paige to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship. Brie and Paige controlled the early stages with quick tags and double-team offense, but Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid battled back by isolating Paige. Brie nearly secured the win with the LeBell Lock, but Fallon reached the ropes.
Late in the match, Jacy Jayne interfered several times to help her teammates. After Paige avoided a charge that sent Lainey into the ring post and Brie took Fallon out at ringside, Jayne secretly rolled Lainey into position. Reid capitalized with a victory roll on Paige to score the pinfall and become the new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.
Danhausen vs JD McDonagh (No Disqualification Match)
Danhausen defeated JD McDonagh in a No Disqualification Match. McDonagh controlled the early action and received help from Dominik Mysterio, who repeatedly interfered and attacked Danhausen. Danhausen fought back with a Manhattan Drop, a lariat, and a nearfall after the Stundog Millionaire.
The match turned chaotic when three Minihausens appeared and brawled with The Judgment Day. Danhausen then placed his stuffed black cat into a cloning machine, which produced NBA star Karl-Anthony Towns. Towns chokeslammed both McDonagh and Dominik before Danhausen hit the Danhausen Death Drop on JD McDonagh to score the victory.
Bayley vs Lyra Valkyria
Lyra Valkyria defeated Bayley by referee stoppage in a brutal match. Bayley broke Lyra’s nose early, leaving her bloodied for the rest of the contest. Despite the injury, Valkyria battled back while Bayley targeted her damaged face and controlled parts of the match with a Boston Crab and several nearfalls. The action remained physical until Lyra countered late with the Saka Otoshi. Bayley lost consciousness in the hold, forcing the referee to stop the match.
After the match, Lyra continued the attack. She slammed Bayley into the ring post, reapplied the Saka Otoshi to choke her out again, then pulled apart the steel steps and drove Bayley into them before officials finally intervened.
CM Punk & Cody Rhodes vs GUNTHER & Sami Zayn
Before the match, Cody Rhodes and CM Punk were interviewed in Gorilla. Cody joked that nobody asked if they could coexist, saying they were friends and focused on keeping the SummerSlam title match one-on-one. Punk agreed, and after a brief discussion over who should make their entrance first, Cody headed out before the champion.
CM Punk and Cody Rhodes defeated GUNTHER and Sami Zayn in the main event. The stipulation stated that if GUNTHER and Zayn won, they would both be added to the WWE Undisputed Championship match at SummerSlam. Cody and Punk worked well together early, while GUNTHER and Zayn used frequent tags to gain control.
Late in the match, Sami accidentally knocked referee Charles Robinson down while trying to break up a pin. GUNTHER grabbed the championship belt and struck Cody before hitting a powerbomb. As another referee ran in to count the pin, SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis pulled him out of the ring to stop the unfair finish. Aldis then hit GUNTHER with the championship belt. Punk then dragged Cody onto GUNTHER for the cover, and Robinson recovered to count the pinfall.
Roman Reigns Celebrates Jalen Brunson
Roman Reigns made a special appearance alongside 2026 NBA Finals MVP Jalen Brunson at Madison Square Garden. Roman praised Brunson for leading the New York Knicks to their first NBA championship in 53 years. Reigns called Brunson the captain of the team and the King of New York before presenting him with a custom WWE Men’s World Championship featuring blue leather with an orange stripe. The two champions celebrated together as the crowd cheered.
The celebration was interrupted by Seth Rollins, who appeared through the crowd and attacked Reigns from behind. Tyrese Haliburton was revealed to be with Rollins. Seth warned Brunson to stay out of the way and prepared to injure Roman with a chair, but Brunson stepped in front of Reigns. The distraction allowed Roman to recover and hit Rollins with a Superman Punch followed by a Spear.
