RR started the season in a phenomenal way. They have been on top of the table for the majority of the tournament. Sanju Samson and his team were looking formidable, and it looked like this season could be theirs. Then the SRH match happened. RR lost a high-scoring match just for a run. After that, RR lost to DC in a match that was spoiled by a couple of umpires’ controversial decisions against them. RR were still at the top of the table by then, thanks to their dominant run thus far. But losing the last two matches has been frustrating for the fans as well as for the skipper.

Sanju Samson Sends Strong Message to Players
The calm Sanju Samson finally spoke up and asked the team to step up.
“Frankly speaking, we need to take a step back and acknowledge that we are making mistakes. You need to figure out what isn’t functioning well within the team. We need someone to raise their hand and declare, ‘I am going to win the game for the team,’ when things become tough. Our players are capable of doing it,” said Samson.
The captain wants every player to show ‘correct conduct’ and be motivated to win the match.
“It all comes down to showing correct conduct and being motivated to win the match. If we all attempt it and a few of us are successful, we can make a difference. Although it’s a team sport, individual players must step up at this point,” he added.
In the last match against Punjab Kings, Royals could only score 144. They were at least 15 runs shorter, according to Samson.
“We thought wicket would be a little bit better. It’s not a 140-run wicket. In my opinion; we should have scored 160. I believe that’s where we lost the match,” the RR skipper admitted.
Samson also said that it would have been a bit easier to have a sixth bowling option.
“It gets a little challenging when there are only five bowling options, so it probably would been little easier to have one more. However, I’m used to it. Additionally, we have five excellent bowlers,” Samson opined.
What’s Next for Rajasthan Royals?
Royals will now face Kolkata Knight Riders in their last league match of IPL 2024. both teams already qualified, it would be a fight to remain in the top 2 for RR.
