Robertson Blames Strikers for Liverpool 1-0 Loss: Liverpool defender Andy Robertson blamed the strikers for their 1-0 loss against Crystal Palace, a loss that might just have cost the team the Premier League title.
The Reds took on Crystal Palace at the Anfield on April 14 and by most numbers and stats, the home side dominated the game. However, 21 shots and 70% possession were not enough for Liverpool as they lost by a solitary goal from Palace attacker Eberechi Eze in the 14th minute.
A part of Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp’s farewell tour, this match was crucial for his side as a win here would bring them to the top of the PL table.

Scottish defender Andy Robertson, who played a massive role in Liverpool’s Premier League and Champions League triumphs a few seasons ago, played the whole 90 minutes against Crystal Palace at left-back. When asked about the reason behind his team’s loss, the 30-year-old claimed that the attackers should have been better in front of the goal, saying –
“You have to take your chances. The boys in front of goal have to do better.”
As stated above, Jurgen Klopp will be leaving Liverpool at the end of this season. His final season is not going as expected. First, the side was eliminated from the FA Cup following a 4-3 thriller against Manchester United in the quarter-final. Then, the Merseyside-based club lost 3-0 to Atalanta in the 1st leg of the quarter-final of the Europa League and will most likely be eliminated.
Now, their Premier League hopes have been all but dashed following the loss to Crystal Palace.
Liverpool will next face Atalanta in the 2nd leg of the Europa League quarter-finals on April 19 (IST), before facing Fulham in a Premier League contest on April 21.
