Rajat Patidar speaks on RCB turnaround: The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are scripting a story of dreams as they are one win away from potentially sealing a playoff spot after being in the 10th position in the middle of the season, where they were in a rut of six consecutive losses.
RCB’s upcoming match, their last of the league phase, could be a virtual knockout match against Chennai Super Kings at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
One of their star Indian batters, Rajat Patidar, has credited the “good” dressing room environment for this turnaround, as they have won five matches in a row.

Speaking with reporters on Tuesday, Patidar cited that the team took motivation from their 2016 campaign when they had similarly made a winning streak in the second half of the season to enter the playoffs. The 30-year-old explained that the players want to play for the pride of RCB and its fans.
“To get support from the franchise and the team management allows the players to do their best on the field. The environment was good in the team, even when things were not going our away. I think that plays a huge role in building the character of the team. I think that, of course, it’s a big franchise and playing for pride that was the turnaround. We have done earlier also in 2016. So I think we have an example in our own team pricing there,” Patidar said.
Patidar, who had a poor start to the season, himself has been heavily influential in RCB’s turnaround. He’s cracked five half-centuries in his last seven innings and two in the last two. He’s been sensational against spin bowlers.
On his prowess against spinners, Patidar added,
“For me, it’s important to pick from the hands, that’s my main strength.”
RCB will host CSK on Saturday. A huge win is mandatory for their chances to qualify for playoffs. Despite this, they will also have to get lucky as their chances are hanging around other results in the competition.
