Players With INR 2 Crore Base Price IPL Mega Auction: Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, Mitchell Starc, Jofra Archer, and Ishan Kishan are among the players who have set their base price of INR 2 crore for the IPL 2025 mega auction.
A total of 1574 players have registered themselves with the IPL for the IPL 2025 mega auction. This list will be pruned down after receiving inputs from all 10 IPL franchises.
One of the biggest names in world cricket that is missing from this list is that of England test captain and all-rounder Ben Stokes. Stokes, who featured in IPL 2023 for a couple of games for CSK, had missed the majority of that season due to an injury and then pulled out of IPL 2024 to manage his fitness and workload.
Stokes has pulled out of the IPL 2025 mega auction as well. This means that, according to the new rule by the BCCI, which wouldn’t allow an overseas player to enter the mini-auction if he doesn’t enter the mega-auction, Stokes will not be eligible to enter the mini-auction for IPL 2026.
The IPL 2025 mega auction is set to be held on November 24 and 25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. It will clash with the third and fourth days of the Perth Test match between India and Australia, though the BCCI would allot the timing of the auction in such a way that it doesn’t overlap much with the Test match.
Coming to the auction’s registered players list, out of the 1574 players who have put their name in the auction, 1165 are Indians and 409 are overseas cricketers. The list comprises 320 capped players, 1,224 uncapped players, and 30 players from Associate Nations.
The 10 teams had combined to retain 46 players before the mega auction. Since each team’s squad can consist of a maximum of 25 players, 204 slots will be up for grabs at the IPL 2025 mega auction.
91 South African players have registered for the IPL 2025 mega auction, the most overs players from any country, followed by 76 from Australia and 52 from England. One of those England players is legendary seamer James Anderson, who is retired from international cricket, has not played a T20 match since 2014, and has never been part of the IPL in his career.
The list includes one player from Italy and one from the UAE.
