Mustafizur Rahman Hides Alcoholic Beverage Logos: Chennai Super KIngs’ latest Bangladeshi export Mustafizur Rahman’s jersey will stand out from that of his teammates as it will not include logos for any alcoholic beverages.
Mustafizur, nicknamed Fizz, made quite an impression during his first match for CSK. In the opening match of IPL 2024 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, he took four wickets in his four overs and ended with figures 4/29.
Bought for Rs. 2 Cr by the defending champions, his jersey during the opening game for RCB was very slightly different from other CSK players as it did not bore the logo og SJ Alcohol Brands, one of the team’s sponsors.
Mustafizur Rahman Hides Alcoholic Beverage Logos
It is likely that Rahman refused to sport logos of alcoholic brands due to religious beliefs. Several players of the Islamic faith, past or present, have refused to wear jerseys with logos of alcoholic brands. Some of the examples of such players are Moeen Ali, Hashim Amla, Rashid Khan, and Imran Tahir.

This will be a small sacrifice that the team will make for a player with such a high ceiling like Mustafizur Rahman. With the way he can generate movement off the pitch throughout the innings, Rahaman will be in the race for the Purple Cap for the whole season.
Mustafizur Rahman will next take to the field for the Chennai Super Kings in the team’s next match. CSK will play in a repeat of last season’s final against the Gujarat Titans in Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium on Tuesday, March 26.
