Most ICC Trophies: Australia Women recently crushed England Women by seven wickets to win the T20 World Cup final. It was Australia’s seventh title in the tournament.

England batted first and scored 150-4. Captain Nat Sciver-Brunt scored 58 off 53 balls. Freya Kemp added 44 not out from 28 balls. The total was considered below par.

Australia chased down the target with 17 balls to spare. Beth Mooney scored 64 off 49 balls. Phoebe Litchfield added 48 not out. They put on a partnership of 100 in just 67 balls.

England had improved under coach Charlotte Edwards and reached their first final since 2017. However, Australia were a class above. England will now need to close the gap before the Ashes at home next summer. Australia finished the tournament unbeaten.

Australia had already stunned hosts India in the men’s Cricket World Cup for the sixth time. They won by six wickets in Ahmedabad. India batted first and scored 240 all out. Australia reached the target with seven overs to spare.

The victory extended Australia’s record as the most successful side in 50-over World Cup history. They now sit four titles clear of the rest.

A Closer Look at the Most ICC Trophies in Cricket History

Australia (24 Titles) – The Undisputed Leaders

Australia sits at the top of the list and it is not even close. They have been the most successful cricket nation in the world by a long shot.

Their men’s team has won 10 ICC trophies. That includes a record six Cricket World Cups. They won in 1987, 1999, 2003, 2007, 2015 and 2023. No other team comes close to that number. They also have one T20 World Cup from 2021, two Champions Trophies from 2006 and 2009, and one World Test Championship from 2021-23.

But their women’s team is even more dominant. They have won 14 titles in total. They have won the Women’s Cricket World Cup seven times and the Women’s T20 World Cup seven times as well. That is an incredible record. Australia is basically the gold standard for cricket in both the men’s and women’s game.

India (9 Titles) – The Second Most Successful

India comes in second place with 9 ICC titles. The main reason for that number is the success of their men’s team.

The Indian men have won eight trophies. They have two ODI World Cups from 1983 and 2011. They have three T20 World Cups from 2007, 2024 and 2026. And they have three Champions Trophies. They shared one in 2002 and won outright in 2013 and 2025.

The women’s team has one title to their name so far. They won the Women’s ODI World Cup in 2025. That was a huge moment for Indian cricket. It added a nice boost to their overall tally.

England (8 Titles) – Strong in Both Formats

England are the only team besides Australia that have had real success in both the men’s and women’s game. They have a solid 8 titles overall.

The men’s team has won three trophies. They won the ODI World Cup in 2019. They also won the T20 World Cup in 2010 and again in 2022.

The women’s team has been more successful with five titles. They have won multiple ODI World Cups and T20 World Cups. England have a strong cricket culture and it shows in both sides.

West Indies (6 Titles) – The Early Dominators

The West Indies built their legacy on early dominance. They were the kings of cricket in the 1970s and 1980s and their trophy count reflects that.

Their men’s team won the first two ODI World Cups in 1975 and 1979. They also won two T20 World Cups in 2012 and 2016. That gives them four men’s titles.

The women’s team has added one T20 World Cup title to the tally, which they won in 2016. So overall, the West Indies have 6 ICC titles. They may not be as dominant now as they once were, but their history is unforgettable.

New Zealand (4 Titles) – The Recent Finalists

New Zealand have 4 ICC titles to their name. They have been consistent performers and have made it to a lot of finals in recent years.

The men’s team has two titles. They won the Champions Trophy in 2000 and the World Test Championship in 2019-21. That Test Championship win was a massive moment for New Zealand cricket.

The women’s team also has two titles. They won the Women’s ODI World Cup in 2000 and the Women’s T20 World Cup in 2024. New Zealand might not have the biggest trophy cabinet. But they are always a tough team to beat and they keep showing up in big tournaments.
