MI vs KKR Match Highlights And Report-IPL: Mitchell Starc let out a huge roar as he castled Gerald Coetzee, which meant MI were bowled out for 145 in the chase of 170. This 24-run victory for KKR meant their first win at the Wankhede since 2012 and only their second-ever IPL win at this stadium against MI. With only 3 wins in 11 matches, Hardik Pandya’s team is all but out of the competition.
Venkatesh Iyer starred with the bat for KKR. On a two-paced surface, he scored 70 (52) to take KKR to 169. The KKR bowlers then were on the money most of the time. Narine and Chakravarthy returned with identical figures of 2/22 each, while Mitchell Starc cleaned up the lower order with three wickets in a single over. Andre Russell also bagged two wickets. KKR are in the second spot with 14 points in 10 matches.

Hardik won the toss and elected to bowl first. Sri Lankan Nuwan Thusara got MI off to an excellent start by taking the wickets of Phil Salt, Angkrish Raghuvanshi, and Shreyas Iyer, all three mistiming their hits and serving catches. MI continued to peg with the wickets of Narine, bowled by Pandya, and Rinku Singh caught and bowled by Chawla.
Venkatesh and Manish Pandey, who was sent in as an Impact Sub, stemmed the flow of wickets with their partnership of 83 (62), with the left-hander reaching his fifty in 36 balls. The 17th over, though, brought two wickets for MI: Pandey was caught at extra cover, and Russell got run-out. Bumrah struck thrice in his last two overs as KKR were bundled for 169.

Similar to KKR, MI also lost three powerplay wickets. Kishan was bowled by Starc and Naman Dhir by Chakaravarthy, while Rohit mistimed his slog-pull off Narine. MI were 46/3 after the powerplay. The two mystery spinners applied a further chokehold, tidying up the runs and taking the wickets of Varma and Wadhera before Russell joined in with the wicket of Hardik, whose leading edge was taken by Pandey.
MI were 82/6 before Suryakumar Yadav brought a fight to KKR. SKY walloped a six to Russell before going 4, 6, 4, 4 against Arora, and reached his half-century in 30 balls.
However, with 50 runs needed in 28 balls, MI lost Suryakumar as he couldn’t connect a full toss from Russell properly and gave a catch to Salt. Starc sealed the match in the 19th over with three wickets, including that of Tim David.
This was the first time since 2018 that both teams were bowled out in a match.
