Medhavi Bidhuri is a 20-year-old right-arm leg-spin bowler from Delhi. She has been a consistent part of Delhi’s cricket system and has represented the state at the Under-19 level. She previously played for South Delhi Superstarz and played a key role in the 2025 DPL final. She is currently representing Central Delhi Queens in the 2026 Women’s Delhi Premier League.

She shot to fame with her unique “6-7” celebration. The celebration was inspired by her sister. The celebration is based on a popular Gen-Z trend. She originally wanted to wear jersey number 12, but it was already taken. Her sister suggested number 67 instead, and the celebration followed. The gesture went viral on social media and made her an overnight sensation.

In a recent interview, Medhavi revealed her favorite cricketers. In men’s cricket, she chose Virat Kohli. She said the choice was obvious because he is also from Delhi. In women’s cricket, she picked Mithali Raj as her idol. She said Mithali has a lot of patience and perseverance. She described herself as a quiet player and said she has spent time with Mithali in camps.

Her rise to fame has been quick. The “6-7” celebration has not only made her popular but also attracted attention from senior cricketers. Yuzvendra Chahal recreated the celebration during a County Championship match in England. The gesture has crossed boundaries and become a social media phenomenon. Medhavi continues to play for Central Delhi Queens.

Medhavi Bidhuri Reveals Why She Chose the Viral “6-7” Wicket Celebration

Medhavi Bidhuri has been grabbing headlines for her unique wicket celebration during the Women’s Delhi Premier League 2026. The leg-spinner from Delhi produced the “6-7” celebration after dismissing South Delhi Superstarz batter Nishika Singh during the opening match for Central Delhi Queens. The video quickly went viral on social media.

She chose the number 67 for her jersey and decided to make it her celebration. Her younger sister, who is like a brother to her, suggested the idea. She said the “six-seven” thing is trending a bit and her sister told her to wear jersey number 67 and keep this as her celebration.

Medhavi has been part of the Delhi domestic setup for many years. She represented Delhi at the Under-19 level and has also performed well in the Delhi Premier League. She was part of South Delhi Superstarz in the 2025 season and delivered a brilliant spell in the final. She ended up with figures of 3 for 26 as her team clinched the final by just one run. She was also part of the Women’s Premier League 2024 auction.

She finished her first match with figures of 2 for 24 from four overs. Her team lost by 29 runs, but the celebration caught everyone’s attention. On August 23, she did it again. She dismissed East Delhi Riders batter Vanshika Lila and performed the gesture once more. She returned figures of 1 for 26, but her team suffered another defeat.

Yuzvendra Chahal Joins the Viral “6-7” Trend After Taking County Championship Wicket

Yuzvendra Chahal has joined the ‘6-7’ trend. He recreated the viral celebration during Northamptonshire’s County Championship match against Lancashire at Old Trafford. Chahal produced the gesture after dismissing Lancashire batter Joe Moores. He came around the wicket, beat the batter, and crashed into the stumps. He then performed the celebration that has taken social media by storm.

Chahal’s performance also played a key role in Northamptonshire’s win. He finished with match figures of 3 for 39. Northants completed a commanding 316-run victory over Lancashire. It was their first win at Old Trafford since 1999.

The ‘6-7’ gesture was originally made famous by Delhi women’s cricketer Medhavi Bidhuri. She produced the celebration during the Women’s Delhi Premier League 2026. She dismissed South Delhi Superstarz batter Nishika Singh. The wicket came in the 16th over. Nishika was caught at mid-wicket. Bidhuri then raised and lowered both hands in the distinctive gesture.

Bidhuri had initially wanted to wear jersey number 12. But the number was already taken. Her younger sister suggested number 67 instead. That allowed her to connect the jersey number with the viral trend. She said the “six-seven” thing is trending a bit and her sister told her to keep it as her celebration.

The ‘6-7’ craze has crossed sporting boundaries and become a social media phenomenon.
