Lucknow Super Giants Owner Scolds KL Rahul: Lucknow Super Giants owner Sanjiv Goenka was seen scolding team captain KL Rahul following their humiliating loss against the Sunrisers Hyderabad.
SRH took on LSG in Match 57 of IPL 2024 in Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. While batting first, the away team got off to a poor start, scoring just 27 runs and losing two wickets in the powerplay. Rahul himself played a sub-100 strike rate inning of 29 in 33 balls.
Nicholas Pooran and Ayush Badoni paced up the inning in the second half and took the Super Giants to 165 runs in 20 overs.
In response, the Sunrisers went on the offensive right from the start. They scored 107 runs in just the powerplay, and Travis Head reached his 50 in 16 balls. Head, along with Abhishek Sharma, reached the target without losing any wickets in just 9.4 overs in what was one of the biggest defeats in IPL history.
This was a poor performance by the Lucknow Super Giants with the bat and especially with the ball. It was also a bad day to be KL Rahul, who failed as a batter and a captain.

But it did not end for Rahul with the final ball of the game, as, after the match, the camera caught Sanjiv Goenka pointing out something to the keeper-batter that he did not like. In the video, it seemed like KL tried to make a case but was immediately shut down by the team owner.
This was one of the worst losses in the history of the Lucknow franchise. This loss also makes them back runners in the race to the playoffs.
Following the humiliating loss, LSG is sixth on the league table with 12 points in as many matches, with the contest against SRH being a huge blow to their net run rate. Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings are ahead of them in the points table with the same number of points, with CSK having played one less match.
LSG will play the Delhi Capitals in their next match in Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium on May 14.
