LSG vs PBKS Match Highlights And Report-IPL: In the chase of 200 runs, Punjab Kings were sailing nicely at 101/0 after 11 overs. Then came the spell from debutant Mayank Yadav that not only stunned the Punjab batters but also excited the Indian fans and must have been noticed by the BCCI selectors.
Aged 21 and with experience of only 10 T20 matches, Mayank picked three wickets, those of Jonny Bairstow, Prabhsimran Singh, and Jitesh Sharma. This came via a bout of serious pace from the youngster, whose top speed was clocked at 155.8 KPH; he’s the only Indian pacer other than Umran Malik in the IPL over the past 11 seasons to clock 155 KPH.
From the other end, Mohsin Khan dismissed Shikhar Dhawan and Sam Curran to seal the game as Liam Livingstone was hobbling on one leg due to injury.

Earlier, Nicholas Pooran came out at the toss instead of KL Rahul, who played only as a batsman and was later subbed out for an Impact substitute. Pooran elected to bat first on what was a good batting surface in Lucknow, unusual to the spin-friendly tracks we saw last season.
Quinton de Kock anchored LSG’s innings from one end while the hosts lost Rahul, Padikkal, and Stoinis for cheap scores. Nicholas Pooran came in at number 5 and blasted his way to 42 runs in 21 balls with the help of three fours and as many sixes. De Kock scored 58 off 34 balls. Runs from the two left-handers meant LSG scored 103 runs in the middle-overs phase from overs 7 to 15.
It looked like LSG would struggle in the death overs after Pooran’s wicket in the 16th over. However, experienced campaigner Krunal Pandya stepped up in the role of a finisher and smashed 43* runs in 22 balls, which included a couple of sixes, to take LSG to 199.

In reply, Punjab got off to the best possible start, with Bairstow and Dhawan marauding the Lucknow bowlers. The pair walloped 61 runs in the powerplay, with Mohsin conceding 16 runs in the 6th over. The attack didn’t relent, with three sixes coming off two overs from Bishnoi and Krunal.
Punjab were in the driver’s seat at the 11-over mark, needing 99 more runs in 9 overs with all 10 wickets in hand. Then young Mayank Yadav turned the game by getting Bairstow mistiming a pull, and then the aggressive Prabhsimran was bounced out. Mayank rankled Jitesh, who was dismissed for 6 (9), and outdid him with his pace and bounce.
Say pace and bounce. Mohsin did the same in his last over, the 17th, in which he sent bumpers to dismiss Dhawan (70 off 50) and Sam Curran for a golden duck. With Livingstone struggling with one injured leg, the game was effectively done and dusted there. Livingstone, though, scored 28 (17) to mitigate some net run rate damage.
Score summary: Lucknow Super Giants 199/8 in 20 overs (Quinton de Kock 54, Sam Curran 3/28); Punjab Kings 178/5 in 20 overs (Shikhar Dhawan 70, Mayank Yadav 3/27). LSG defeated PBKS by 21 runs.
