Logan Paul To Defend US Title Against LA Knight: It has now been confirmed that Logan Paul will defend his United States Championship at SummerSlam against a popular WWE superstar.
Paul has been the US champion since Crown Jewel in 2023. In his over-eight-month title reign, the social media influencer and pro wrestler has only defended the title on two occasions.
His first defence came against Kevin Owens at the 2024 Royal Rumble, a match the champ won via disqualification after Owens was caught with a brass knuckle on his fist while making a pin. His second and, as of yet, last defence came on Night Two of WrestleMania 40, where Paul defeated Owens and Randy Orton in a triple-threat match.
Since WrestleMania, Logan Paul has been in a background feud with LA Knight; the two have not had a one-on-one match yet, but several segments between the two have eluded to them colliding in a future title match.
The two did face off against one another in a triple-threat match that also included Santos Escobar, which was for a place in the Men’s Money in the Bank match, with Paul winning the contest.
With Knight looking for a title shot at the Maverick for months now, the Megastar finally addressed the situation in this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown.
Logan Paul To Defend US Title Against LA Knight
LA Knight came out to cut a promo, addressing his loss in the six-man Money in the Bank ladder match last week. But he quickly moved on from his loss, instead making Paul and the United States Championship the topic of discussion.
The former Million Dollar Champion then announced that SmackDown general manager Nick Aldis had signed the contract for a US title match at SummerSlam, the second-biggest WWE Premium Live Event of the Year. Paul will defend his championship against Knight.
The 2024 SummerSlam will take place on August 3 (August 4 IST) in the Cleveland Browns Stadium in Cleveland, Ohio, which is Logan Paul’s hometown.
Despite the event taking place in his hometown, the champ is expected to lose his belt to LA Knight, who is yet to win his first championship on WWE’s main roster.
