In a second consecutive preseason match, Inter Miami, featuring Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, and company, faced disappointment as they were defeated 1-0 by FC Dallas. The focus was on Inter Miami’s star-studded lineup, but it was FC Dallas’ home talent, Ferreira, who stole the spotlight by scoring the lone goal just three minutes into the game.
Despite dominating possession, Tata Martino’s Inter Miami struggled to convert opportunities into goals. Messi had a notable chance in the first half, testing FC Dallas goalkeeper Maarten Paes, who made a crucial save. Even an attempt at an Olimpico by Messi was thwarted by Paes.
The trio of Messi, Suarez, and Sergio Busquets played for 64 minutes before being substituted off. This follows a goalless draw against El Salvador in their previous preseason outing.
The Messi vs Ronaldo Classic Is At the Doorstep
The next challenge for Inter Miami is against Al Hilal in the Club Friendlies on January 29, followed by a match against Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr on February 1. The team’s preseason tour includes stops in Saudi Arabia and Asia, with fixtures against Hong Kong XI and Vissel Kobe before concluding with a match against Newell’s Old Boys on February 15.
