Irfan called the MI squad ‘strong’ but not all players have played up to their potential.
“Mumbai have a strong squad. They can beat any team in the Indian Premier League 2024. Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan can hammer any bowling attack. Suryakumar Yadav doesn’t need any introduction in this format. Hardik hasn’t played to his potential and the day he returns to his scoring ways, he will not stop. He can contribute in the bowling department as well.
Irfan also praised the MI bowlers, especially Jasprit Bumrah and Gerald Coetzee. He also opined that if MI solves their spinning issue, they could finish in the top four.
“Jasprit Bumrah has proved to be unplayable so far. I loved the way Gerald Coetzee bowled in the last game against Punjab Kings. He was impactful and didn’t wait for the death overs to bowl his Yorkers. If Mumbai can resolve their spinners’ issue, they will finish in the top four,” Irfan Pathan said on Star Sports.

Mumbai Indians will face Samson’s Rajasthan Royals in the IPL today. Royals are currently leading the table with 12 points out of the available 14. Mumbai, on the other hand, are at seventh on the table with 6 points, having won only 3 of the 7 games.
