England club snatched Team India’s star of the Afghanistan Test Manav Suthar for the ongoing County Championship 2026. The young spinner was signed by Warwickshire after his magnificent man of the match performance on his debut.
Suthar’s international Test debut was historic after becoming the first player to bag the player of the match award, after a scintillating 6-wicket hall against Afghanistan. This made him only the 9th player in India’s Test history to achieve the same.
It’s the first time for the 23-year old to play in the county. He is expected to play his first match when Warwickshire meet Yorkshire on June 12. After that, he will also be seen against Somerset on June 19.

Excited about signing a young talent, Warwickshire’s performance director James Thomas issued an official statement on the behalf of the team. Thomas expects Manav to strengthen the bowling attack.
“We’re delighted to welcome Manav to the Bears at a really exciting time for the team. We’ve played some good red-ball cricket already this season, and Manav will bring a new aspect to our bowling attack. It shows how highly he’s rated in India after his selection to their Test team last week, so it’s going to be great to have him around the group,” said James Thomas.

Manav also released a statement after getting signed by Warwickshire.
