Indian cricket team: The IPL 2026 came to its conclusion on the night of May 31 in Ahmedabad. Even as the fans and players bask in the aftermath of the over-two-month-long tournament, the cricket juggernaut that is Indian cricket doesn’t stop for anyone.
The action comes thick and fast if you are an Indian cricketer and an Indian cricket team fan or follower. Lest one forget, the IPL 2026 has begun exactly only 20 days after India lifted the T20 World Cup 2026 trophy, which meant that some players, particularly Jasprit Bumrah, certainly seemed jaded from the marquee ICC event and weren’t at their best in the IPL.
India will be playing all three formats of cricket in the next two months, both home and away.
Let us see which team the Indian cricket team will face right after the IPL and their schedule for the next couple of months.
When is India’s next series after the IPL 2026?
In less than a week from the culmination of the IPL, India will be hosting Afghanistan for a one-off Test match starting on June 6 in Mullanpur, New Chandigarh.
When is India’s next ODI series?
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will be back in action in India colors for the three-match ODI series against Afghanistan, slated for June 13, 17, and 20 in Dharamsala, Lucknow, and Chennai, respectively.
When is India’s next T20I series?
After hosting Afghanistan for one Test match and three ODIs, the reigning T20 world champions will fly to the UK, where they will take on Ireland in a two-match T20I series in Belfast on June 26 and 28, which will be followed by a five-match T20I series against England from July 1 to July 11.
The eyes will be on the BCCI selectors as Suryakumar Yadav’s form has been concerning, while the likes of Shreyas Iyer and Rajat Patidar have made compelling cases in the shortest format.
India and England will also clash in a three-ODI rubber from July 14 to 19. From England, the T20I team will fly to Harare for a three-match T20I series against Zimbabwe, scheduled from July 23 to 26.
