India Champions Reach WSC 2024 Final: India Champions defeated Australia Champions in the second semi-final of the World Championship of Legends 2024 to make their way into the final, where they will face the Pakistan Champions.
The World Series of Champions (WSC) is having its first-ever season. The tournament comprises six ‘champions’ teams from six nations – India, Australia, Pakistan, England, West Indies, and South Africa. All the players in these teams are former national team players, most of them legends of the sport.
The tournament, being played in England, saw the six teams play each other once, with four teams making it to the semi-finals.

England Champions and South Africa Champions were eliminated from the first round, having won only one and two matches respectively.
The aforementioned Australian team finished on top of the table with four wins. Pakistan finished second with four wins as well. West Indies Champions finished third with two wins, while India finished fourth with two wins as well but a better net run rate than South Africa.

The two semi-finals were played on Friday, July 12. India Champions took on table-toppers Australia in the second semi-final. The Aussies won the toss and decided to bowl first, as it would turn out a big miscalculation.
Robin Uthappa gave the team a quick start, as the wicketkeeper played a brilliant knock of 65-off-35. Captain Yuvraj Singh too played a fine inning of 59-off-28. The Pathan brothers, Yusuf and Irfan, reached their 50s in 22 and 18 balls respectively.
With the help of these innings, the Men in Blue Legends reached a massive total of 254/6 in 20 overs. And even though the Kangaroos gave their all, they faltered at 168.7 in their allotted overs to lose the game by 86 runs
Before the India Vs Australia game, the first semi-final between Pakistan and West Indies was played at 5 p.m. IST on the same ground. It was the Windies Champions that won the toss and put Pakistan Legends to bat first.
The Younis Khan-led team put up a fine batting performance, despite an early collapse, the captain played a fine knock of 65-off-45. Wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal stabilised the team at the start with his 46-off-31. Meanwhile, Aamer Yamin and Sohail Tanvir finished things off with a bang with a nearly 200 strike rate as Pakistan finished their inning on 198-8.
In response, West Indies could not keep up with the asking rate and were all-out for 178, losing the game by 20 runs.
India Champions will now take on Pakistan Champions in the final of the World Championship of Legends 2024. The prospect of yet another India vs Pakistan game this year, this one with legends involved, is a salivating prospect for fans of cricket in the subcontinent.
