Hardik Pandya Calls MI the Toughest Soldiers: Hardik Pandya praised the Mumbai Indians players after their defeat in the thrilling match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Wednesday.
Mumbai was coming off a loss against Hardik’s former team, the Gujarat Titans. A tie against Sunrisers Hyderabad was winnable on paper. But when the match started, Mumbai saw something that they would have never imagined. Boundaries after boundaries (both 4s and 6s), and Sunrisers Hyderabad put forward a record-breaking 277 runs to chase.
Replying to that, MI started with full power. They crossed the 150 mark in just 10 overs by losing just 2 wickets. But they gassed out before reaching the target and lost the match for 30ish runs.
Hardik Pandya Calls MI the Toughest Soldiers
Despite losing, MI’s fightback was widely appreciated. One of the praisers was captain Hardik Pandya himself. Hardik implied that MI are the toughest team in the tournament. He applauded the fighting-back mentality of the team, especially the bowlers, as when they were getting rocked by SRH batters, none hesitated to take the ball and try for a breakthrough.
“Toughest soldiers get the toughest tests. And we are the toughest team in the competition. Anyone who could have come even close to where we reach, as a batting group or as just overall Mumbai Indians, was us. Something I’m really proud of is our bowlers. Even when the day was tough, I didn’t see anyone running away, everyone wanted the ball. And that’s a good sign. So let’s make sure we help each other throughout. Whatever happens, worst, bad, good, we’ll manage it together,” said Hardik.
