Gavaskar Wants Arshdeep to Play Tests for India
Gavaskar is so impressed with Arshdeep’s skills and temperament.
“Arshdeep pitches the ball at a hard, consistent length, targeting the stumps for right-handed batters and angling it away from left-handers. His ability to precisely execute both those deliveries is his strength. Today, he was not focused on bowling many yorkers, but rather on maintaining that hard, probing length. Furthermore, his temperament is excellent,” Gavaskar stated.
“I believe he has the potential to excel in red-ball cricket, much like Bumrah. If he can effectively move the white ball, he could be equally dominant with the red ball. The selection committee should seriously consider him as an option for the test team,” he continued.
In the match, India beat the USA by 7 wickets and became the first team in the group to march into the Super 8 of the competition. They will face Canada now on June 15.
