Fans Troll Deepak Chahar fielding mistakes vs LSG: Even though the Chennai Super Kings pacer Deepak Chahar did well with the ball against Lucknow Super Giants on Tuesday night at Chepauk, the seamer made two huge errors in the field that were significant in CSK losing their first home game of the season.
LSG’s Marcus Stoinis pulled off one of the greatest IPL innings—124* in 63 balls, which is the highest individual score in a run-chase in IPL history—to take LSG over the line in the last over while chasing the target of 211. This target attained by LSG is the highest successful chase in Chennai in the IPL.
LSG hadn’t started well in their pursuit as Deepak Chahar dismissed Quinton de Kock for a duck, the left-handed opener chopping onto his stumps, in the first over. Chahar bowled two overs in the powerplay, conceding 11 runs, and didn’t bowl again in the match.
His expensive blunders came in the field later in LSG’s innings. On the last ball of the 18th over, Deepak Hooda pulled Mustafizur Rahman. Chahar, at deep backward square leg, spilled a tough catch, and the ball was parried over the boundary line for a six.
Then, on the third ball of the 19th over, Chahar gave away a boundary that he should have stopped at third man. He cut the ball in time and got his fingers on it, but failed to collect it properly, and the ball hit the ropes. These two mistakes from Chahar proved very costly, as LSG won with only three balls to spare.

Wicket-keeper and former captain MS Dhoni seemed furious at Chahar for such grave mistakes. The bowlers, too, expressed frustrations at conceding boundaries that should have been stopped.
Netizens roasted Deepak Chahar for his fielding blunders:
Meanwhile, CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad cited the dew in the second innings as a reason for his not being able to use the spinners. Ravindra Jadeja and Moeen Ali bowled four overs combined and leaked 37 runs.
“Dew played a part. I feel it was a slightly huge amount of dew and took our spinners away from the game. If there was no dew, we could have controlled the middle phase and taken the game deeper. It’s part of cricket. You really can’t change the non-controllable. Long way to go in the tournament,” Gaikwad, whose century went in vain, said.
