Fans React To Rohit Sharma And Virat Kohli Vs USA: India might have defeated the USA by 7 wickets in the 2024 T20 World Cup to book a ticket to the Super 8, but it was the former India U-19 and current USA pacer Saurabh Netravalkar who grabbed headlines.
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, two of the biggest names in world cricket, came out to open the game for India to chase down a target of 111.
Netravalkar bowled the first ball of the inning, and on just the second ball of the over, he bowled a beautiful delivery that angled out after the bounce. Kohli looked to hit a cover drive but nicked the ball instead which was caught by the wicketkeeper. The 32-year-old engineer at Oracle had dismissed the greatest batter of this generation.
He didn’t stop there, in the third over of the inning, he gave India a massive fright when he made Rohit Sharmaedge the ball up in the air, which was caught at mid-off.

And yes, India might have won the match on the back of a fine 50 by Suryakumar Yadav, but Netravalkar’s performance was the highlight of the match.
What was also a massive topic of discussion post-match was how this was the third inning in a row where Virat Kohli failed, scoring his first duck in the T20 World Cup this time. After scoring a half-century against Ireland in the opening game, Rohit Sharma too has had two poor games.
