Daryl Mitchell Gifts A Fan His Gloves: A heartwarming story just emerged from the IPL as Chennai Super Kings’ Daryl Mitchell gifted his gloves to a fan after accidentally shattering his iPhone during practice.
CSK took on the Punjab Kings in Match 53 of IPL 2024 in Dharamshala’s HPCA Stadium. Punjab won the toss and put Chennai to bat first.
The Super Kings managed to score just 167 on a decent pitch as Ravindra Jadeja, Daryl Mitchell, and captain Ruturaj Gaikwad scored 30 or more.
In response, the Super Kings’ bowling attack ripped PBKS’ batting apart, only allowing them to score 139 in 20 overs.

The match was played on the afternoon of Sunday, May 5, in the picturesque foothills of the Dauladhar mountains in the Himalayas.
Before the match, the New Zealand all-rounder was seen practicing his pull shot near the boundary. While there was some netting to avoid the ball going into the stands, it was quite short.
So when Mitchell hit the ball just a little harder, it flew into the front rows of the stands.
In a video of the incident that emerged on the internet, the 32-year-old can be seen practicing near the boundary, with the ball flying into the stands and seemingly hitting a fan. The video then cuts to a shattered iPhone, seemingly broken by the ball.

But this story has a happy ending, as it ends with the fan showing off Mitchell’s gloves, seemingly given to him by the cricketer.
Following that win, Chennai Super Kings are in third place in the league table with 12 points in 11 matches and are in the hunt for a playoff spot. The five-time champions will take on the Gujarat Titans in their next match on May 10 in Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium.
