Delhi or Chennai are being considered as potential venues to host the India vs Pakistan match of the Cricket World Cup 2023, which is considered the marquee clash of the mega event.
As per a report from Cricbuzz, the BCCI has selected 12 venues for hosting 48 matches in the upcoming Cricket World Cup 2023. It is expected that each venue will host four matches. The final match is likely to take place at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium, while the highly anticipated match between India and Pakistan may be held in either Chennai or Delhi.
Cricbuzz has shared some information regarding the Cricket World Cup 2023, stating that the tournament is scheduled to take place in October-November. However, the BCCI and ICC are yet to announce the official schedule. While Delhi and Chennai have been suggested as potential venues for the highly anticipated India-Pakistan match, no confirmation has been made yet.
Which Stadium Will Host Cricket World Cup 2023 Semifinal Matches?
In addition to the World Cup Final and the India vs Pakistan match, the two semifinal matches are also crucial fixtures in the tournament. In Upcoming matches in ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, The top four teams in the points table will compete against each other in the semifinals, and the winners will progress to the final round.

During the last ICC event hosted by India in 2016, Delhi and Mumbai were the venues for the two semifinal matches. This year, Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium is being considered as one of the potential venues for one of the two semifinals, while the other venue is yet to be finalized.
Unfortunately, Mohali’s Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium, famously known for hosting the 2011 Cricket World Cup semifinal between India and Pakistan, did not make it to the final list of venues for the upcoming mega event.

In addition to Ahmedabad, Delhi, Chennai, and Mumbai, there are eight other shortlisted venues for the World Cup 2023 tournament. These include Rajkot, Guwahati, Indore, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Dharamsala, Hyderabad, and Lucknow. It will be fascinating to see which stadiums will be granted the privilege of hosting the semifinal matches.
