As Per Ben Stokes Suffer IPL Injury, According to Stephen Fleming, the head coach of Chennai Super Kings, England Test captain Ben Stokes has encountered an injury setback in the IPL, which is expected to keep him out of action for at least another week.
Stokes was purchased by Chennai for $1.98m (£1.6m) in the player auction held in December. However, due to a toe injury, he has only been able to participate in two of the team’s first six matches of the tournament.

“Our priority is getting Ben fit and ready to play, that’s what we are concentrating on.”
“At the moment, he’s not quite ready. But as soon as he is, we’ll worry about the next part, which is how the team works.“
On Monday, the latest edition of the Wisden Cricketers’ Almanack announced that Stokes has been awarded the title of “Leading Cricketer in the World”.
The England team is eagerly anticipating his return to full fitness before the five-Test Ashes series against Australia, scheduled to begin on June 16 at Edgbaston this summer.
Before the IPL, Brendon McCullum, the head coach of the England men’s Test team, had expressed that he had no worries about Stokes’ involvement.
In March, McCullum, who played his first Test match for New Zealand under Fleming’s captaincy, stated that “Chennai has an excellent team and a remarkable leader in Flem.“
“He sees the big picture in everything so I’ve no concerns.“
He added: “I don’t think he’s jeopardizing the Ashes… The skipper has a strong mind and he knows how to get right for the big moments.“
Chennai, the team that has won the IPL championship four times, is scheduled to play against Kolkata Knight Riders on Sunday in their upcoming match.
