India have made two changes to their squads for the ongoing white-ball series against West Indies. Fast bowler Prasidh Krishna is out with an injury. All-rounder Washington Sundar has also been withdrawn from the T20I squad.
Prasidh picked up a left hamstring injury during the second ODI in Guwahati on Wednesday. He could only bowl five overs in that match. He finished with figures of 1 for 45. West Indies went on to score 405 for 7, their record total against India. India still won the game by eight wickets.
Anshul Kamboj has been named as Prasidh’s replacement for the third and final ODI. Kamboj is currently playing for India A against Australia A in Puducherry. He bowled 17.3 overs in the first innings of that match and took three wickets. He will now join the India squad in Chandigarh.
The selectors have also decided to pull Washington Sundar out of the T20I series against West Indies. That series begins on October 6 in Lucknow.
The BCCI said the decision was made with the upcoming Test tour of New Zealand in mind. The Ranji Trophy season starts on October 11. Washington will play red-ball cricket for Tamil Nadu to prepare for the Test series.
Naman Dhir will take Washington’s place in the T20I squad.

Anshul Kamboj: From Haryana All-Rounder to India Test Debutant
Anshul Kamboj is an Indian cricketer. He was born on December 6, 2000. He is a right-handed medium-pace bowler who can also bat a bit. He plays for Haryana in domestic cricket. In the IPL, he first played for Mumbai Indians in 2024. He now plays for Chennai Super Kings.
Kamboj made his first-class debut for Haryana in February 2022. That was against Tripura in the Ranji Trophy. But he first made a name for himself in limited-overs cricket. In the 2022-23 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, he took 7 wickets in 7 matches. Then in the 2023-24 Vijay Hazare Trophy, he took 17 wickets in 10 matches. He played a big role in Haryana winning that title.
Those performances helped him get noticed. Mumbai Indians bought him in the 2024 IPL auction. He also did well in first-class cricket. He was picked for the 2024-25 Duleep Trophy. He played for India C. He took 16 wickets in 3 matches at an average of 17.12. He was named Player of the Tournament.
In November 2024, Kamboj achieved something rare. He became the third bowler ever to take all ten wickets in an innings in the Ranji Trophy. He did this for Haryana against Kerala.
Kamboj got his chance in international cricket in 2025. He was added to the Indian squad for the fourth Test against England. That match was part of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. It was played at Old Trafford. Several other players were injured, so Kamboj was included in the playing eleven. He made his Test debut in that match. He also took his first international wicket. He dismissed Ben Duckett.
