Rajat Patidar is an Indian international cricketer. He is a right-handed top-order batter and also bowls off-spin. He plays domestic cricket for Madhya Pradesh cricket team and captains Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the Indian Premier League. In 2025, under his captaincy, the team won their first IPL title.
After a strong domestic season and good performances in the 2022 IPL, Patidar was selected in the ODI squad against South Africa. In February 2023, he was again named in the ODI squad for the series against New Zealand national cricket team as an injury replacement for Shreyas Iyer, but he did not play in those matches.
Patidar made his ODI debut on 21 December 2023 against South Africa and scored 22 runs from 16 balls. He made his Test debut on 2 February 2024 in the second match of the series, scoring 32 runs in the first innings and 9 runs in the second innings.

Rajat Patidar Personal Life
Rajat Patidar was born in Madhya Pradesh and grew up in Indore. His family background is simple. His father, Manohar Patidar, runs a business that sells pumps and machines. His older sister worked as a college professor before her marriage.
From a young age, Rajat was focused mainly on cricket. Even before the start of the Indian Premier League in 2008, he was already interested in the T20 format. When he was about 14 years old, he was serious about becoming a cricketer.
In 2014, he had reconstruction surgery on his right knee, which could have slowed his career. However, he did not give up and continued working towards playing professional cricket. His childhood coach Ram Atee from Vijay Cricket Club in Indore has described him as a very shy person.
In the eliminator match against Lucknow Super Giants, Patidar played a memorable innings. He scored an unbeaten 112 runs from 54 balls, hitting 12 fours and 7 sixes. It was his first century in T20 cricket, and he won the Player of the Match award.
His father later said that the family had expected around 50 runs from him in that match, so the century came as a pleasant surprise. Playing for Royal Challengers Bengaluru was also special for Patidar because it had always been his favorite IPL team, mainly because of Virat Kohli.
