WWE SmackDown Highlights
Drew McIntyre Confronts Nick Aldis
Drew McIntyre walked through the crowd with a mic and stood on the announce desk calling out SmackDown GM Nick Aldis. Drew said Aldis should tear up the contract and accused him of helping Cody Rhodes get another title shot.
Aldis came out and told Drew nothing needed fixing. He reminded him that he lost the championship in a fair one-on-one match after headbutting the referee. Aldis also said Drew often complains about being screwed even though he blocked Cody from getting a fair rematch before.
Drew got in the ring and argued face-to-face with Aldis.
Then Jacob Fatu came out. Fatu said Drew should stop blaming everyone because he was the one who made sure Drew lost the title. He challenged Drew to do something about it.
Instead, Drew shocked everyone by saying he quits and walked out through the crowd.
Solo Sikoa & Talla Tonga vs Erick Rowan & Uncle Howdy
The match began with Rowan and Talla Tonga trading shoulder blocks. Tonga tricked Rowan with a fake move and knocked him down before tagging Solo Sikoa. Solo kept control for a while, and Tonga later hit a Samoan drop on Uncle Howdy for a two-count.
During a confusion, Nikki Cross grabbed the Wyatt lantern and distracted Solo. Howdy took advantage and hit Sister Abigail. Wyatt 6 won by pinfall after Uncle Howdy pinned Solo Sikoa.
After the match, Cross returned the lantern to Howdy, but Tama Tonga attacked Howdy from behind and stole the lantern back for MFT.
Jade Cargill vs Mia Yim
Mia Yim started strong with kicks and a fast headscissors from the corner. She kept the pressure on and even sent Jade Cargill into the barricade outside the ring. Back inside, Jade turned things around with a big knee and a powerful slam.
Yim landed a Pele kick and a shiranui before Jade rolled out of the ring. Back in the ring, Jade hit a chokeslam and then finished the match with Jaded. Jade Cargill won by pinfall with Jaded.
After the match, Jade grabbed a microphone and said other wrestlers go quiet when they see her, but people still expect her to fear Rhea Ripley. Jade said she is not afraid of anyone and promised to beat Ripley at WrestleMania.
Ripley then came out to the ring. Jade walked away while Ripley delivered a short message, warning that at WrestleMania she would make Cargill her “bitch.”
Alexa Bliss & Charlotte Flair vs. Irresistible Forces (Lash Legend & Nia Jax) – WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship
The champions attacked right at the bell, overpowering Bliss and Flair early. Alexa tried a cannonball outside the ring, but Nia Jax caught her and slammed her into the apron. Charlotte answered with a plancha on Jax, but Lash Legend stopped her with a big pump kick.
Later in the match, Bliss finally reached Charlotte for the tag. Flair came in with a diving crossbody, big boot, and several chops. She even hit a moonsault on Jax, but Lash broke up the pin. Chaos followed when Nikki Bella and Brie Bella got involved.
Because of the interference, the match ended in a disqualification. Irresistible Forces retained the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship.
Damian Priest & R-Truth vs Angel Garza & Humberto Carrillo
Los Garza attacked before the match could really start, but Damian Priest quickly fought back and knocked both men down. He stacked them in the corner with punches and tagged in R-Truth, who hit a pop-up move followed by his scissors kick.
Truth eventually fought back with a Stundog Millionaire and tagged Priest. Priest came in with strong offense, including a crossbody and a Razor’s Edge on Garza. In the closing moments, Priest and Truth worked together.
Damian Priest and R-Truth won by pinfall after hitting South of Heaven and an Attitude Adjustment together.
Jacob Fatu vs Trick Williams
The match started fast, with Fatu landing heavy right hands, turnbuckle headbutts, and a snap swinging neckbreaker attempt. Williams fought back with chops, elbows, a Cyclone Kill, and a jumping neckbreaker, keeping the match competitive. Fatu hit a big Samoan drop and diving senton atomico, but Williams kept fighting back.
Outside interference from Drew McIntyre distracted the referee, allowing Williams to land the Trick Shot. Trick Williams won by pinfall. Post-match, McIntyre blindsided Fatu with a Claymore.
Cody Rhodes vs Randy Orton – Contract Signing Segment
Nick Aldis introduced Rhodes and Orton for a contract signing. Rhodes spoke about his journey since 2007, recalling his first match against Orton and how he always respected him. He then signed the contract calmly.
Orton, however, turned violent. After initially contemplating the contract, he attacked Rhodes. He smashed him into the announce desk, steel steps, and even using the steps in a brutal V-shaped setup. Road agents and Nick Aldis tried to intervene, but Orton continued, using a chair and targeting Rhodes’ head repeatedly.
Cody Rhodes was left bloodied and incapacitated, with Orton sitting in the ring, the championship belt across his waist.
