This week’s WWE SmackDown took place on December 13, 2025, and this episode was live from Mohegan Arena at Casey Plaza in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. The theme of this entire show was to build the upcoming TV special, Saturday Night’s Main Event, which will be streamed live on Netflix on December 14, 2025.
During this episode of SmackDown, we saw many great matches and many great moments, including an intense face-off between the WWE Undisputed Champion, Cody Rhodes, and the NXT Men’s Champion, Oba Femi. We also saw Ilja Dragunov defending his United States Championship against Tommaso Ciampa. The main event of this week’s SmackDown was already advertised, and it was a mixed tag team match between the Terror Twins and Aleister Black and Zelina Vega.
WWE SmackDown Highlights
Cody Rhodes starts the Show
This week’s SmackDown was kicked off by the WWE Undisputed Champion, Cody Rhodes. He came out and addressed Drew McIntyre. He stated that if he were McIntyre’s boss, Rhodes would have fired him, but he is not his boss, so he can only beat him. After that, as Rhodes was talking, he was interrupted by NXT Champion Oba Femi.
Oba Femi came out and directly stood face-to-face against Cody Rhodes. Femi stated that Rhodes is worried about the wrong guy, as he needs to focus on him, and not McIntyre. Femi further stated that Cody, your time is up, and my time is now. This segment ended, with both Champions raising their championships and staring each other while standing face-to-face.
Ilja Dragunov vs Tommaso Ciampa
On this episode of SmackDown, Ilja Dragunov defended his United States Championship against Tommaso Ciampa. This match was one of the best matches of the entire night and went on for 20+ minutes. Towards the end of the match, we saw Johnny Gargano distracting Dragunov, and as Ciampa was looking to deliver a Fairy Tail ending, Dragunov countered and secured the win via a roll-up pin.
After the match, Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa both attacked Dragunov; however, Carmelo Hayes came out to save Dragunov and cleared the ring by attacking both Gargano and Ciampa.
Wyatt Sicks addresses Solo Sikoa
Wyatt Sicks came out and addressed Solo Sikoa. Uncle Howdy openly challenged that, if MFT wants these Tag Team championships, they should come and get them. After that, Solo Sikoa appeared in a video package and announced that MFT will face Wyatt Sicks next week for the WWE Tag Team Championships.
Alexa Bliss vs Lash Legend
After defeating Kairi Sane last week on SmackDown, Alexa Bliss faced Lash Legend in a one-on-one match. This match went on 15+ minutes, and at the end of the match, Lash Legend delivered a Lash Extension on Bliss to secure the victory via pinfall.
The Miz vs Je’Von Evans
In a one-on-one match, Je’Von Evans faced The Miz. This match went on 15+ minutes and was one of the best matches of the entire night. At the end of the match, Evans delivered an OG Cutter on the Miz and secured the biggest win of his career via pinfall.
Jade Cargill attacks Michin
Jade Cargill was supposed to face Michin; however, Cargill attacked Michin while she was about to make her entrance, and with that, she was unable to compete in this match.
Rhea Ripley and Damien Priest vs Aleister Black and Zelina Vega
The main event of this week’s SmackDown was a mixed Tag Team match between Aleister Black and Zelina Vega and Rhea Ripley and Damien Priest, aka the Terror Twins. This match went on 15+ minutes, and at the end of the match, Ripley delivered a Razor’s Edge followed by a Riptide on Zelina Vega to secure the win via pinfall in this match.
