Ruturaj Gaikwad is an Indian international cricketer and a right-handed top-order batter. He plays for the India national team and captained India to the gold medal at the 2022 Asian Games.
He made his T20 International debut against Sri Lanka in July 2021 and his One Day International debut against South Africa in October 2022. In domestic cricket, he represents Maharashtra and captains the team in T20 and List A formats. He has also played for the West Zone and has captained the Rest of India side.

Ruturaj Gaikwad’s Personal Life
Ruturaj Gaikwad was born and raised in Sangvi, Pimpri-Chinchwad. He does not come from a cricketing family. His father, Dashrath Gaikwad, is a retired employee of the Central Defence Research and Development Institute, and his mother, Savita Gaikwad, works as a teacher.
His parents noticed his love for cricket very early. His father recalled that when Ruturaj first learned to stand, he held a bat in his hand. Once they understood that cricket was his passion, they stopped buying him clothes for birthdays and instead gifted him cricket bats and equipment. They focused on supporting his training while teaching him discipline and hard work.

Ahead of IPL 2025, CSK retained Ruturaj Gaikwad for ₹18 crore, appointing him as the team’s captain for the 2025 and 2026 seasons.
