Kolkata Knight Riders IPL 2026 Squad: The IPL 2026 auction has come to a rest, and we now have the full picture of how the Kolkata Knight Riders will shape up in the upcoming season of the biggest franchise cricket league in the world.
The Knight Riders came into the auction with a massive budget of Rs 64.30 crore, the highest in the league. This team had an underwhelming season last year, finishing eighth. They then released a lot of big-money players to make room and come into the auction with a heavy purse.

KKR did retain a lot of their squad, just releasing some high-priced players. They had a decent batting attack in place even before the auction. Last season’s captain, Ajinkya Rahane, was joined by veteran Manish Pandey, aggressive batter Rinku Singh, youngster Angkrish Raghuvanshi, and former West Indies T20 captain Rovman Powell.
Having released Andre Russell, they retained three all-rounders, those being Ramandeep Singh, Anukul Roy, and franchise legend Sunil Narine.
Lastly, we come to their retained bowling attack. Varun Chakravarthy was the only specialist spinner in this list. He was joined by pacers Harshit Rana, Vaibhav Arora, and Umran Malik in the retention list.
Now, we come to all the players they bought in the IPL 2026 auction. They started their evening with the biggest buy-in in this auction. A bumper price of Rs. 225.20 crore for Australian all-rounder Cameron Green made the Aussie the most expensive overseas player in IPL history.
They then followed it up with a steal purchase of New Zealand wicketkeeper/batter Finn Allen for his base price of Rs. 2 crore.
Kolkata then spent big once again, bringing in Sri Lankan pacer Matheesha Pathirana for a whopping Rs. 18 crore, adding a death specialist bowler to their squad.
It should come as no one’s surprise that KKR was the busiest team in this auction, regularly being part of bidding wars, even for players they did not ultimately buy.
After the big buys, the Knight Riders bought explosive Delhi batter Tejasvi Singh for Rs. 3 crore, former CSK leg-spinner Prashant Solanki for the base price of Rs. 30 lakh, and pacer Kartik Tyagi for Rs. 30 lakh.
Then, in the first accelerated round, KKR bagged quite a few names. First, batter Rahul Tripathi for Rs. 75 lakh, followed by New Zealand wicketkeeper/batter Tim Seifert for Rs. 1.50 crore, and then Bangladeshi pacer Mustafizur Rahman for a solid Rs. 9.20 crore.
They rounded this round off with two 30 lakh uncapped picks at the base price: Delhi batter Sarthak Ranjan and Hyderabad leggie Daksh Kamra.
They rounded their IPL 2026 auction off with two massive buys in the second accelerated round. First, New Zealand all-rounder Rachin Ravindra for a base price of Rs. 2 crore, and Indian pacer Akash Deep for his base price of Rs. 1 crore.
