As mentioned earlier, rather than a public event, the Argentine will attend a private gala hosted by the Adani Foundation. This event will likely be attended by the group’s founder, Gautam Adani.
The Adani Foundation is highly involved in the sporting scene in India through its sporting branch, the Adani Sportsline. The group owns a few franchise teams across leagues, including the Gujarat Giants in the Pro Kabaddi League and a team of the same name in the Women’s Premier League.
Recently, the Adani Group collaborated with the International School Sports Organisation (ISSO) through the Adani International School to redefine school and youth sports in India by aiming to build world-class infrastructure inclusive of sports culture on an international level.
The private gala with Lionel Messi will reportedly have the same focus as the organisation’s partnership with ISSO, that is, to develop youth sports and sports education in the country from the corporate sector.
