The Indian Cricket Team’s dominant win over England in the second Test match brought this five-match series to 1-1 after two games. India won the match at Edgbaston by a whopping 336 runs.

After tying the series up, the two sides will take on one another in the third Test, which will be played at the ‘Mecca of Cricket’, Lord’s Cricket Ground in London. The questions we can ask before the match are many. How will the pitch be? Will the weather allow for a full match to take place? What will be India’s playing XI for the coming Test? Today, we answer one of those questions.

After their first win in their ninth Test at Edgbaston, will India make any changes to their squad? Or will they stick to the winning formula and go into the next match with the same combination?

India Predicted XI For 3rd Test Vs ENG

The opening duo of this team is in no question. Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul will open the innings for India. Jaiswal is in fine form, as he scored a ton in the first match and an 80+ score in the second. On the other hand, KL Rahul scored a century in the first match as well and also scored a half-century in the second. The two openers’ place on the side is locked.

The No. 3 batter is a controversial one. In the first match, Sai Sudharsan played in that place and did not do well. Then, in the second game, Karun Nair was promoted to third and failed to capitalise on the opportunity as well. There are also the likes of Abhimanyu Easwaran and Dhruv Jurel in the squad. But after a match win, it is unlikely that the Indian Cricket Team will make a lot of changes, so Karun Nair will likely start at No. 3.

There is nothing more certain in Indian cricket at the moment than Shubman Gill’s place at No. 4 in Tests. The newly appointed Test captain has scored. In the two matches so far in this series, Gill has scored three centuries, one of which was a massive double-ton, which was also the highest Test score by an Indian captain. With almost 600 runs in two games, Shubman will anchor the team at No. 4.

At No. 5, wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant has locked in his place after scoring two centuries in the first match of the series and a half-century in the second. Then, in sixth is the ever-dependable Ravindra Jadeja, whose supporting role alongside Shubman Gill in the second Test was huge in ensuring the win for India.

While India can look to make changes, the all-rounder duo of Nitish Kumar Reddy and Washington Sundar should get another chance at No. 7 and No. 8, despite not doing too well in the second match.

After beiIndia Predicted XI For 3rd Test Vs ENG rested for workload management, Jasprit Bumrah will return to the playing XI for the third Test at Lord’s, as confirmed by Shubman Gill. He will be in the squad.

As for the last two pacers, after the second Test, it is obvious who will fill those last two spots. Mohammed Siraj has played both Tests so far. And while he did not do too well in the first, his six-wicket haul in the first inning of the second match was crucial for India to establish a massive lead. So he is a lock at No. 10.

As for the last spot, no one other than Akash Deep can take that spot. He was the best bowler on a batting-friendly pitch in the second match. Bowling perfect lines and lengths and getting a lot of movement on a challenging track, Akash gave the best performance of his international career and took a 10-fer in the second match. And if Shubman Gill hadn’t scored 430 runs, Akash Deep would have been the Player of the Match.

India Predicted XI For 3rd Test Vs ENG: Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, Karun Nair, Shubman Gill (C), Rishabh Pant (wk), Nitish Kumar Reddy, Ravindra Jadeja, Washington Sundar, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Akash Deep

The third England vs India Test match will be played at the Lord’s Cricket Ground and will commence on July 10th. It will start at 3:30 pm IST every day. The match will be broadcast live on the Star Sports Network on television. It will also stream live on the JioHotstar app and website on mobiles, laptops, and other streaming devices.
