Sanju Samson Last Moment With RR: Indian Premier League team Rajasthan Royals shared the last moments of team captain Sanju Samson with the squad after the IPL 2025 season comes to an end for the franchise and the player.
Sanju has been RR’s regular captain since 2021. The highest run scorer in franchise history, Samson has now been the captain with the most wins for the Royals. He led this franchise to some great seasons, especially from 2022 to 2024, during which period the inaugural IPL champions made it to the playoffs twice and to the final once.

However, IPL 2025 was a forgettable tournament for both Samson and the Royals. First, the team. They won only four matches throughout this season, losing 10 and getting only eight points with a negative net run rate. They finish ninth on the points table.
Meanwhile, Sanju came into this season recovering from a fractured finger and played the first three matches as an Impact Player, just coming in to bat. Then, after a full recovery, he captained the team in a few matches before suffering an abdominal injury and missing a big chunk of the season entirely.
In the nine matches he played this season, Sanju Samson scored 285 runs at an average of 30.95 and a strike rate of 139.05. Due to missing a big part of this tournament, this is his lowest total in an IPL season since 2015.
And now, after a disappointing team for everyone involved, Sanju has now left the RR camp for IPL 2025. The franchise’s social media accounts shared a video of his last moments at the team camp, giving the team a “Big bye”.

While he has left only because of the end of the season, some speculations suggest that this might be Sanju Samson’s last season with the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL and that he might be moving to the Chennai Super Kings next season.
However, that case seems highly unlikely. There were reports a few seasons ago of CSK approaching Samson to join the team. But having already become the captain of the Royals, he refused. Sanju will be a massive part of RR’s rebuild for the next season, in which the franchise will look to build upon the many positives from IPL 2025 and try to take a shot at the title in 2026.
