Australia Announces Squad For WTC Final 2025: Cricket Australia has announced their 15-man squad for the World Test Championship final 2025 against South Africa. The team has all the regular names and one key player who is returning from injury.
The Australian Cricket Team are the defending WTC champions, defeating India in the 2023 final in comprehensive fashion. Making it to their second final in a row, the Aussies were not the favourites to make it to the final this time around. But that changed when India, the table toppers for a big part of the cycle, lost a Test series against New Zealand at home 3-0.

While South Africa finished on top of the table, the Kangaroos had to win the five-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy against India to make it to the final, which they did, 3-1.
Now in the final of the WTC 2023-25, Australia will be looking to win the ultimate title in Test cricket for the second time running. The singular final match will be played from Wednesday, June 11 to Sunday, June 15, 2025. The match is scheduled to be played at The Lord’s in London.
As for the Australian Cricket Team squad for the match, it is quite similar to the Aussie squad against India in the BGT. The team will be captained by Pat Cummins, who is currently leading Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2025.
Travis Head is the regular opener of the side and will be joined by the youngster Sam Konstas and Usman Khawaja as opening options. Vice-captain Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne will be in the batting order as well. Meanwhile, the two wicketkeeping options are Josh Inglis and Alex Carey.

Cameron Green makes his national team debut after over 12 months, getting back from an injury. However, he is not the only tall all-rounder in the squad, as Beau Webster is a part of the squad for the final as well.
Nathan Lyon and Matt Kuhnemann provide the only proper spin options. As for the pace attack, the famous Australian pace unit of captain Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, and Scott Boland will be ready to wreak havoc on the opposition.
As for the only travelling reserve that has been announced, it is 31-year-old pace all-rounder Brendan Doggett from Queensland.
