Bumrah runs through Shubman Gill in MI vs GT: Mumbai Indians speedster Jasprit Bumrah turned around the MI vs GT match with a sensational spell in the death overs that helped MI now only claw back in the game but also inch ahead.
This outstanding two-over spell in the death included the two huge wickets of Gujarat Titans skipper Shubman Gill and the dangerous finisher Shahrukh Khan, both bowled with absolute peaches.
In the chase of the target of 156, GT were on the course at 107/2 at the 14-over mark when rain arrived and halted play for over 25 minutes.
This halt broke the momentum that Gill, batting on 38 off 42, and Sherfane Rutherford, batting on 26 off 12, had been batting with and allowed MI to regroup.
Upon resumption, MI captain Hardik Pandya went straight to his trump card: Jasprit Bumrah, and Bumrah didn’t disappoint. Has he ever?
Although he was pulled by Gill for a boundary through mid-wicket, Bumrah had the last laugh as he knocked over Gill’s stumps. Bumrah attacked Gill with his trademark hard length.
Gill played down the wrong line, as numerous batsmen before him had, with Bumrah’s bowling angle forcing false judgments from them, as the ball seamed in more than he anticipated. It took a deflection off Gill’s pad and rattled into the stumps.
Bumrah made an aggressive celebration, something he doesn’t do often; it just further showed how important the wicket was for MI.

Right after Bumrah dismissed Gill, Trent Boult got rid of Sherfane Rutherford at the other end. Bumrah returned for his last over and got the better of Shahrukh. GT went down further when Ashwani Kumar dismissed Rashid Khan, leaving GT needing 24 runs off 12 balls when rain arrived again.
