Tristan Stubbs was the first to go on the attack, scoring 34 runs in 22. Impact Player Ashutosh Sharma was named the Player of the Match for his brilliant 31 balls 66 and was the player that took the match home. And finally, the debutant Vipraj Nigam scored 39 runs in just 15 deliveries and played a massive role in his side’s win.
The Delhi Capitals won the match with just one wicket in hand. On the other hand, the Lucknow Super Giants let a win slip from their hands.
Following the match, Super Giants owner Sanjiv Goenka was spotted in a discussion with the captain, Rishabh Pant, who scored a six-ball duck on his LSG debut, and head coach Justin Langar.

This sparked the memories of similar discussions Goenka had with former LAG captain KL Rahul in 2024 when the team was struggling. May speculate that Goenka ‘scolding’ Rahul was a major reason that the wicketkeeper-batter was not retained by the team for IPL 2025.
