The India vs Australia semifinal is the first knockout match of CT 2025 and is being played at the Dubai International Stadium. The Aussies won the toss in this IND vs AUS match and decided to bat first on a surface that was expected to support bowling. The IND vs AUS match live could be seen on JioHotstar and the Star Sports Network.
India played all their games in this stadium as they topped Group A by defeating Bangladesh, Pakistan, and New Zealand. Australia, on the other hand, played all their games at batting-friendly pitches in Pakistan and finished second in Group B behind South Africa.
Australia opened their batting with Travis Head and youngster Cooper Connolly. The latter of the two is not a regular opener and struggled against Mohammed Shami and Hardik Pandya before getting out for a duck when he was caught behind on Shami’s delivery.
Head then took charge of the inning and scored some quick runs. He scored 39 off 33 before falling victim to Varun Chakravarthy in the ninth over while looking to slog the ball over long on. With the match scorecard at 54/2 in the ninth over, captain Steve Smith partnered with Marnus Labuschagne to take the Kangaroos past the 100-run mark. Labuschagne did get out after scoring 29.

In the middle overs of the inning, we saw Smith anchor the inning and cross the 50-run mark. While Josh Inglis came and went, Alex Carey partnered well with Steve Smith. By the time the skipper got out in the 37th over for 73 off 96, the team score was 198/5 and looked to go well past the 260-run mark, which seemed about par.
Having reached 200 runs before Glenn Maxwell was dismissed for cheap, Alex Carey’s brilliant inning of 61 off 57 played a massive role in Australia reaching that par total of 260. He was dismissed by an excellent throw by Shreyas Iyer.
The tail did score some runs, especially Ben Dwarshuis scoring 19, but the Australian Cricket Team was all out before playing their full quota of 50 overs, scoring 264 runs.
Now, the Indian Cricket Team will have to chase down their largest total against Australia in ICC tournaments. The winner of this match will face either New Zealand or South Africa in the final and will be the favourite to win the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
