Icardi underwent an MRI scan at Medicana Hospital, and it revealed that the player had torn his ACL meniscus damage. This will make it impossible for the player to return for the rest of the games this season.

This will be a huge blow for Galatasaray’s European hope as the club is now third on the table with 10 points, just 2 points short of the leaders, Lazio. Icardi is the top scorer for the club this season, and the club is leading the Super Lig with 28 points from 10 matches. They have 5 matches more than Jose Mourinho managed Fenerbahçe SK.
Icardi joined Galatasaray in September 2022 on a 1-year loan deal with a buy option. The club later made his contract permanent in July 2023 after Icardi became the Turkish Footballer of the Year 2022-23. Icardi also became the top scorer of the club in Süper Lig’s in the 2023-24 season with 25 goals and won two back-to-back titles.
