When and where is the IPL 2025 mega auction: On October 31, all 10 IPL franchises submitted their list of retained players ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction. As mandated by the BCCI, a team could retain a maximum of six players, with a limit of five capped players and two uncapped players.
A total of 46 players have been retained by the 10 franchises combined.
Two franchises – defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders and inaugural season champions Rajasthan Royals – have retained six players each. Five franchises – Chennai Super Kings, Gujarat Titans, Lucknow Super Giants, Mumbai Indians, and Sunrisers Hyderabad – have retained five players each. Further, Delhi Capitals, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, and Punjab Kings opted to retain four, three, and two players, respectively.
PBKS will go into the IPL 2025 mega auction with the largest purse of INR 110.5 crore.

When and where is the IPL 2025 mega auction?
The IPL 2025 mega auction will be held on November 24 and 25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The IPL has reportedly changed the venue from Riyadh to Jeddah. This will be the second consecutive year that the BCCI is hosting the IPL auction outside India; last year, the mini-auction was hosted in Dubai.
The IPL 2025 mega auction will clash with the third and fourth days of the first Australia vs India Test in Perth.
The previous mega auction was held ahead of the IPL 2022 season. Once again, it will be a two-day affair.
