Washington Sundar Scores Ranji 100 Vs Delhi: Indian all-rounder Washington Sundar scored a century in the ongoing Ranji Trophy for his state team Tamil Nadu against Delhi on Day Two of the team’s match. He scored a boundary to reach the milestone.
Tamil Nadu is facing Delhi in an Elite D group match on the latter’s home ground, Arun Jaitley Stadium. The home team won the toss and decided to bowl first. Sai Sudharsan and captain Narayan Jagadeesan established a strong opening partnership of 165 runs.
After the skipper was dismissed, Sunday walked in. The spin-bowling all-rounder has until last week been representing India on the international stage, as he was part of the playing XI for the three-match T20 series against Bangladesh.
Washington, along with the state’s star-batter Sudharsan, then built together a fine partnership. The two scored runs quickly and played some fine shots. First, it was Sai who reached his century. He then scored his double-ton.

At this point, Washington Sundar was only a boundary away from only his second hundred for Tamil Nadu. Facing pace bowler Navdeep Saini, ‘Washi’ edged the ball towards the slips as it raced to the third-man boundary as the all-rounder celebrated scoring a century.
As stated previously, this was only his second century for his first-class cricket team. The first one he scored all the way back in 2017 against Tripura. But the latest one he has scored has been against a top team and Ranji Trophy title contenders.
After scoring 152 runs in 269 deliveries, Washington Sundar was dismissed by medium pacer Himanshu Manoj Chauhan. But that was not the end of Tamil Nadu’s innings. Before that, Sai Sudharsan had gotten out after scoring a quickfire 213 runs in 274 deliveries.
Apart from the two centuries, captain Jagadeesan and Pradosh Ranjan Paul scored half-centuries for their side. At the time of writing, Paul and C. Andre Siddarth are on the pitch as Tamil Nadu has crossed 600 runs.
Navdeep Saini has been Delhi’s pick of bowlers, as he has taken two wickets for 78 runs in 24 overs. The second session of Day Two of the match is currently underway.
