Neymar To Be Out With Injury Till Early 2025: Brazilian superstar Neymar will be out of action till 2025, says Al Hilal manager Jorge Jesus. This news comes as a surprise for several fans of the footballing icon, who has been on the shelf with an injury for almost a year at this point.
The 32-year-old former UEFA Champions League winner left Paris Saint-Germain to play for Al Hilal in the Saudi Pro League, becoming one of the highest-paid athletes in the world.
However, after playing only five matches for his new club, he injured his knee playing for Bazil in a 2026 World Cup qualifier match against Uruguay on October 18. It was later discovered that Neymar had ruptured his meniscus and ACL, an injury that takes anywhere from 6 to 12 months to recover completely from.
About a week after his injury, the Brazilian underwent surgery and has since been on a long road to recovery. In the year since his injury, the footballer, who has a vast following on social media, has posted several videos and photos of himself while training and exercising on several platforms.
Neymar To Be Out With Injury Till Early 2025
For months, it was reported that it would take around 9 to 12 months for him to recover, which put his recovery window anywhere from June to October 2024. However, we now know that is not the case.
Former Portuguese footballer Jorge Jesus, who has been the Al Hilal manager since 2023, has revealed that the team’s Brazilian superstar will not return to action till early 2025. In a recent interaction with reporters, Jesus set the record straight.
“Neymar is a very important player, not just for Al-Hilal but for the league as a whole. However, I can’t specify an exact date for his return. We will assess his condition again in January,” the manager said.
With Neymar away with a long-term injury, the club has had to make some changes. With the Saudi Pro League’s rule that only eight foreign players are allowed per team, the Brazilian superstar has not been included in the team squad for the league. However, he is in the squad for the AFC Champions League for the 2024-2025 season.
And despite their biggest player being unavailable to them, Al Hilal has had little problem in his absence. In the 2023-24 season of the SPL, the team ran away with the league with 31 wins and 96 points in 34 games. They have gotten off to a brilliant start this season too by winning their first four games.
