Cristiano Ronaldo Wants Zidane At Al Nassr: Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly asked for Real Madrid and France legend Zinedine Zidane to be the new Al-Nassr manager.
The Portuguese mega-star has been having a good time ever since signing with the Saudi Pro League side in 2023. Not only did his arrival in the league raise its stock, but it has also allowed CR7 an avenue to play football at a relatively high level in the late stages of his career.
At 39- years -old, Ronaldo has been banging goals for fun for Al-Nassr over the last year or so. In his first full season at the club, he was the league’s top scorer with 35 goals and 11 assists in 31 games.
Not only that, the football icon has been having success with other ventures. Last year, a massive museum for Ronaldo was opened in Saudi Arabia. Earlier this month, he launched a YouTube channel that garnered about 20 million subscribers within 24 hours. In less than a week, the ‘UR Cristiano’ YouTube channel is nearing 50 million subscribers.
Due to his immense stardom as one of the most famous people on the planet, the former Real Madrid star has brought a lot of attention to football in Saudi Arabia as part of the country’s new initiative to focus on becoming the sporting capital of the world.
With his popularity and importance to the sport in the country, Ronaldo clearly has a lot of leverage on his current club. He has had a role in multiple managerial changes at Al-Nassr. When he arrived at the club in the middle of the 2022–23 season, Frenchman Rudi Garcia was the manager. It is all but confirmed that he did not get on well with Ronaldo and was ousted from the position within four months.

The current manager is Portuguese Luis Castro. But new reports are emerging that the 39-year-old is now wanting a legend that he has already worked with before.
Zinedine Zidane, who is a former Ballon d’Or winner and arguably the greatest midfielder in French football history, is also a legendary manager in his own right. He managed Real Madrid in two stints, the first of which lasted two-and-a-half seasons, from 2016 to 2018, at which time Ronaldo was still at the club.
Coming in the middle of the 2015-16 season, he not only won the UEFA Champions League that season but won it twice more over the next two seasons. This made Los Blancos the first and so far the only team in the Champions League era to win the trophy in consecutive years, let alone three.
Eduardo Inda, who is the director of the Spanish news outlet Okdiaria, has reported that Cristiano Ronaldo wants Zidane to be the new Al-Nassr manager.
Having already worked and found success together, it seems that Ronaldo is keen on working together with the French legend once more. The question now is whether Zidane, who does not seem to see managing clubs as a full-time thing, will come to Saudi Arabia for his next challenge in the football world.
