Top 5 Ballon dOr 2024 Power Rankings: With the Ballon d’Or ceremony being just months away, some players have already emerged as favorites to win the prestigious award this year. From players who won multiple trophies to those who were stat monsters for the entire season, let’s look at some of the stars from the world of football who will be vying to be named the best player in the world.
Here are the top five players who are leading the race to win the 2024 Ballon d’Or. These are the Ballon d’Or power rankings.
Top 5 Ballon dOr 2024 Power Rankings
5) Harry Kane (Bayern Munich)
The 2023/24 season was a disappointing one for Harry Kane. Finally, he transferred from Tottenham to Bayern Munich to win the first major trophy of his career, only for Bayern to lose their first Bundesliga since the 2011/12 season. Not only that, but Kane also failed to win any trophy with the German giants; he was even a part of the England team that lost in the Euros 2024 final.
Despite all that, the 30-year-old was still an absolute beast on the field. With 36 goals and 44 goal contributions, he leads the charts for the European Golden Boot. If a player deserves to win the Ballon d’Or entirely on the basis of their individual performances, Harry Kane will be a front-runner in the race for the award.
4) Lautaro Martinez (Inter Milan)
One of the finest strikers in world football, Lautaro Martinez is known for going out of form for long spells. But the 2023/24 season was filled with highlights for him. With his club side Inter, he won Serie A and Supercoppa Italiana. He scored 27 goals and assisted seven for his club and was one of the best attackers in Europe this season.
But the 26-year-old’s biggest achievement this year was winning the Copa America with Argentina. As the Albiceleste retained the title after also winning it in 2021, Lautaro Martinez won the tournament’s Golden Boot award for scoring five goals in six games.

3) Vinicius Jr. (Real Madrid)
For a few years now, Vincius Jr. has been proving himself to be one of, if not the best, left-wing players on the planet. With an uncanny mix of speed and dribbling ability, Vini has been a major piece of the puzzle for a Real Madrid side that has been dominant for the past few seasons.
Everything came together for Real and Vinicius this season. As the Spanish giants won the Champions Trophy, La Liga, and the Supercopa de Espana, the 24-year-old scored 24 and assisted 11 goals for his club.
One thing stopping Vinicius Jr. from winning the 2024 Ballon d’Or is Brazil’s dismal performance at the 2024 Copa America, where the Selecao were eliminated in the quarterfinals. But even in that disappointing campaign, Vini scored two goals in three games.
2) Rodri (Manchester City)
The two players on top of this list are very close, so much so that any one of them can be at no. 1 depending upon who you ask. But for now, we have Rodri at no. 2. The Spaniard has emerged as one of the best midfielders in the world over the past two seasons.
In the 2023/24 season, Rodri won the Premier League, the Club World Cup, and the UEFA Super Cup with Man City. He scored nine goals and assisted 14 for his club this season. But more importantly, he firmed the best midfield duo in the world with Kevin de Bruyne in the heart of City’s line-up.
His biggest team achievement this season came with Spain, as La Roja won the 2024 UEFA Euros. Not only that but he was also named the Player of the Tournament for his role in Spain’s dominance throughout the tournament.
1) Jude Bellingham (Real Madrid)
Jude Bellingham and Rodri are the two frontrunners in the Ballon d’Or race at the moment. But we believe that it is the Englishman who is leading the race at the moment.
Bellingham was without a doubt the best player in the world in the first half of the 0223/24 season, with his move to Real Madrid doing wonders for both parties. He was still an essential piece of the Los Blancos squad that won the UEFA Champions League and La Liga. He scored 23 and assisted 13 goals for his club.
He also played a big role in England’s road to the Euro final, putting in some big performances and scoring a particularly clutch overhead goal in the Round of 16 against Slovakia. If England had won the tournament, Jude Bellingham’s 2024 Ballon d’Or win would’ve been locked in. But as it stands, there are multiple people in competition for the distinguished award.
