Former Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman and World Cup winner Ramiz Raja has dubbed Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah as a legend in all three formats of the game.
Bumrah is fresh off being named the Player of the Tournament for the 2024 T20 World Cup. In the eight games he played in that competition, the 30-year-old took 15 wickets with an economy of 4.17, an average of 8.26, and a strike rate of 11.86.
In the final against South Africa Bumrah bowled a fantastic four-over spell of 2/18. His third over, which was also the 16th over of the inning, was the one that changed the tide of the match after the equation had come down to 30 required in 30 for the Proteas.
The ace-pacer is a generational bowler in the best form of his life. After struggling with injuries for over a year in 2022 and 2023, the Gujarat-based speedster came back to the side in August 2023 and has since been dominating in all formats.

Ramiz Raja Dubs Jasprit Bumrah All Format Legend
Ramiz Raja, who was the PCB Chairman as recently as late 2022, recently sang Bumrah’s praises in a recent video on his YouTube channel. Applauding the pacer’s quality in all formats ever since returning from injury, Raja had this to say:
“In my book, Jasprit Bumrah is a legend in all three formats. There is no one greater who has played all three formats. So you can see where this boy came from, he lacked confidence and had an awkward bowling action. He was unfit, but he came back, and now he has made India win the World Cup.”
Ever since his return to the field in mid-2023, ‘Boom Boom’ Bumrah has shined at every possible avenue. First, he was fantastic in the 2023 ODI World Cup, where he took 20 wickets in 11 games with a sub-19 strike rate and an economy of just over four. Then, in the India vs England five-match Test series, Bumrah took 19 wickets in just four games with an astonishingly low average of 16.89.
Next came IPL 2024, where Bumrah was the lone shining light in an otherwise dismal season for the Mumbai Indians. taking 20 wickets in 13 games with an average of 16.80 and a strike rate of 15.55, he bowled with an economy of 6.48 in a tournament where 200 was a par score in 20 overs.

Following his stellar performance in the 2024 T20 World Cup, Jasprit Bumrah has been named ICC’s Player of the Month for June 2024. In response to receiving the award, he said:
“I am delighted to be named the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for June. It’s a special honour for me following a memorable few weeks spent in the USA and West Indies. We have had a lot to celebrate as a team and I’m delighted to be able to add this personal accolade to the list. To perform as well as we did at the tournament and lift the trophy at the end is incredibly special and I will carry those memories with me forever.”
Bumrah is, understandably, not a part of the Indian National Cricket Team squad for the tour to Zimbabwe. He might not be a part of the tour to Sri Lanka later this month.
