The start of the Netherlands vs Turkiye match was exciting, as the team in Orange started the game hot, taking a few chances in the first few minutes. This game then devolved into both sides enjoying spells of dominance before Turkiye became the first team to strike.

But later replays showed that the ball had actually been touched by Turkish defender Mert Muldur, and this was thus an own goal, the 10th one in UEFA Euro 2024, 2-1.
In the 85th minute, Dutch goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen had to make two successive blocks to keep his team’s lead.

And 2-1 was the final scoreline of this game, as the Netherlands made it to the semi-final. This is the team’s first semi-final appearance in a major tournament since the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
