India javelin thrower DP Manu has reportedly failed a dope test and is under threat of missing the 2024 Paris Olympics. According to The Tribue, the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) issued a provisional suspension to the athlete. The news has been confirmed by the Sports Authority of India (SAI).
A source reported that a notice is being issued to Manu, but it is still unclear whether it’s the ‘notice of the charge or over some other violation’.
“It is confirmed that he has been served a notice, although it is not clear whether it is a notice of charge or over some other violation.”
Manu was expecting to clinch the vacant slot for a third javelin thrower, as the current Olympics champion Neeraj Chopra and Odisha’s thrower Kishore Jeena have already sealed the first two slots.
